Alangiaceae

noun Bot. Family of dicotyledonous plants within a single genus, Alangium. It comprises some 17 species, shrubs or trees, with alternate entire leaves, axillary flowers, and aovate drupes as fruits.

Type genus: Alangium.

Etymology

From modern Latin Alangiaceae; from Alangium, name of a plant genus; and the Latin suffix -aceae, «-aceous».
